Pocket Bikes

First jumped onto a pocket bike back in 2006. Two years later, I officially started competing in a junior class of pocket bikes.

LUCKY 7 CAG (2.9HP 2NM)

The first bike I raced on, beginning in the amateur CAG class. This introduction bike first sparked my interest into motor racing. Bike Modifications included :

♣ Reamed Out Carburetor

♣ Lightened Rims

♣ Reinforced the Frame

♣ K&N Air Filter

♣ Modified Exhaust

This was by far the cheapest bike to run for a kid. It never had reliability issues even though it had a tendency towards swimming pools. Since it didn't have much power, parts didn't really degrade.

What I Liked: Standard, the lucky 7 had a better designed frame than other CAGs in the same price range (Not including pool endurance)

What I Disliked: As an aircooled bike, it had a big performance limit

CHINESE C1 (9.9HP 8NM)

With this bike, I jumped into the Junior 11HP class since no real competition existed at the time. I spent countless hours on this Red Herring but you can't expect a Chinese bike to aspire to more than what it actually is.

ENGINE:

19mm Carburetor
♠ Carbon Fibre Reed Valves
♠ BZM Stuffed Crank
♠ 50cc Big Bore Kit
♠ Steel Clutch
♠ Aluminum Radiator
♠ Flowed and Ported
♠ IDM Coil

FRAME:

♠ Reinforced Swing Arm
♠ Lowered Sub-frame
♠ Raised Footpeg Brackets
♠ Raised Handlebars
♠ Floating Frontbrake Disc

After moving up to the C1 to race in a faster class, I realized the bike should never have been squeezed past the 9HP class but I needed the competition. A Chinese bike will never be able to compete with European (You get what you pay for).

What I liked: This was a cheap watercooled bike, far cheaper than its European counterparts but a giant pain in the ass when you push it past a 9HP class.

GRC MIX (13HP 9NM)

Bought the bike back in 2011 to move my way up to open class. My first European and precision engine (Damn Chinese). My modifications:

♦ Carbon Fibre Reeds (Pulled from C1)

♦ Changed Carburetor Inlet Manifold

♦ Ported and flowed

♦ Lightened Main Frame Brackets

♦ Fitted a Steering Dampener

Originally got the bike off of someone leaving racing. It wasn't too well maintained and a spit polish ensued. Started cutting lap times and was less limited by the bike for a change. Moving to open class was an eye opener into how competitive it did get and that when you were in doubt, you throttled it out.

What I Liked: Parts were accurately machined compared to anything Chinese. Far easier and more reliable to work with.

What I Disliked: Handling was limited because of the rigidness of the frame. I also couldn't fit a damn BZM gold crank because of the Paolini Cases.

GRC RR (14.5HP 10NM)

After i managed to nick this, I started to clean up open class. Started setting record lap times at different tracks and was rarely off the podium.

♥ Ported and Flowed

♥ Carbon Fibre Reeds

♥ BZM Gold Crank

This was a well looked after bike and basically came setup for open class. After getting this bike, I had no possible excuse to reserve myself. When in doubt, flat out.

What I Liked: This bike handled beautifully and inspired confidence to push it to its limits

What I Disliked: This bike carried a hefty price tag (A lot of saving) for better ergonomics and only a small bump in performance

Proto 3BR01 (16HP 10NM)

An anomaly. A mad creation. A custom made, prototype frame with high performance parts skimmed from the RR.

By far the best I've ever ridden. I have yet to find the limits to this design, no matter how hard I push it. Even the RR could only be pushed so far.

What I Like: The absolute king, a maniac, a monster

What I Dislike: Lack of competition prevents me from pushing it even further and the fact that only I can experience this one of a kind bike.
