Super Motards

By far the most frightening amount of acceleration I have ever felt (Even compared to some superbikes), Super Motards were a complete new thrill. The sole goal is to move as quickly as possible between a short circuit track.

KTM 450SMR (2009)

Special thanks to Torquesure auto-insurance for making this bike available to me for a short time. Modifications included:

♦ Set Rider Sag on Rearshock

♦ Set Preload on the Frontforks

♦ Set Fork Compression and Rebound

♦ Setting Highspeed and Lowspeed Compression on the rear shock

♦ Made the Bike User-friendly

♦ Added Battle Scars

First Motard I was ever on. First race I qualified poll around Vereeniging Reverse Circuit. Wouldn't have been possible without the advice and expertise of Strati Yiannakis, Luigi De Camilis and Stefano De Camilis who gave great insight to the class.

What I Liked: Most frightening acceleration I've ever had.

What I Disliked: Only had a short time with the KTM.

YAMAHA YZ450F (2015) (49HP 41NM)

I personally took myself to the cleaners to afford this bike. Bought stock standard as a secondhand motocross bike from the world of Yamaha.

♥ Sent Suspension to Hilton Hayward
♥ Laced My Own Set of Secondhand Motard Rims
♥ Fitted Brake Caliper and Pump From Salvaged Bikes
♥ Quick Shifter Sponsored by Starlane Electronics

♥ Modified the Airbox
♥ Adjusted Fuel and Ignition Mapping
♥ Set Suspension (Clickers Front and Rear)
♥ Where There's a Will, There's a Way

As a young man paid peanuts, it has taken a lot to take this bike this far. I took this bike from stock standard to race ready, as with everything I ride, and when I floor it in the races, it's far more than just a sex machine. A lot of time and hardship went into keeping a dream alive and opening a new path of adventure.

What I Liked: Saved a lot of $$$ doing every little thing I could myself. A far more forgiving bike than the KTM.

What I Disliked: Had to sell a few body parts to get this powerhouse into the running.
